What is it?

Fox and Hunters is a game. It is based on a board game which I read about when I was a kid. I don’t know who the author is, but I would gladly give him/her credit for its simplicity and fun.

Try it with a friend. It’s simple. All you need is a checker board and five pieces. Four pieces of one color represent the Hunters; and the one remaining is the Fox. Moves can be made only on one color of the checker board and only diagonally. The Fox and the Hunters start on opposite sides of the board. The Fox makes the first move, then one of the Hunters. After the first move, the Fox can move to any one of the four adjacent squares. Hunters can only move in one direction, to one of two adjacent squares in front of them. The goal is for the Hunters to trap the Fox before it gets to the other side. The goal for the Fox is to get to the other side of the board without being trapped. Each player takes turns…

Easy, ha?
